Membership
The membership is restricted to people living in the Wairarapa, Manawatu or Southern Hawkes Bay. You must reside in one of these areas:
- Manawatu District Council
- Palmerston North City Council
- Tararua District Council
- Masterton District Council
- Carterton District Council
- South Wairarapa District Council

Family membership
Puketoi membership includes your family. Family members are spouses, de facto partners and children under 18. A de facto relationship is a couple living together for three or more years.
Children of Members
Members’ children who wish to apply for membership must do so when they reach 18 years and before 19. If they do not apply at this time, they relinquish all rights to become members and are regarded as non-members (paying the appropriate hut fees and having no booking rights). Alternatively members’ children, who live in the Wairarapa, can join the waiting list if they do not apply at 18 years. Currently, we have a waiting list for membership, for other than members’ children and we are admitting a limited number each year.
Members’ children who wish to join must apply when they are 18 years old; otherwise they are treated as any other applicant.

You become a full member on paying an entrance fee plus the annual subscription.
Working Parties
Regular working parties are held on the second weekend in February, May and November. However, work parties for maintenance may be required at any time. All members are expected to assist. You do not have full booking rights until a working party is attended.
