New cladding for the hut

The Puketoi hut is being re-clad and is looking good!

Just before Christmas, sixteen loads of scaffolding and timber were taken by helicopter from the Whakapapa car park to the hut. The scaffolding was erected in the first week of January and a team have been onsite undertaking the re-cladding.  The building paper went on first (covering the existing cladding) and then cavity battens.  The “smokey ash” Accoya weather boards will be finished in about two weeks. Some maintenance work was also done on the roof.

Great job by Richard Stewart and The Craftsmen team.
